OUR COFFEE

You may have some questions about our coffee. Hopefully, the following answers most of them.

Q. What coffee do you use in your store?

A. Our focus is building honest, lasting and fair relationships with small coffee growers and coffee roasters around the world.

As far as coffee goes, we use a blend of Brazilian and Colombian beans for milk coffees. The blend is chocolatey and rich. So it punches through milk very nicely.

For black coffee, we have introduced a program that we are very proud of.

Tirelessly curating the tastiest coffees available to us, we bring you on a journey every month offering you an opportunity to experience coffees from small farms all over the world.

Q. Why does the coffee taste so darn delicious?

A. There are a number of reasons.

Firstly, we are committed to giving our best, constantly refining our craft and growing our knowledge.

We hire talented, like-minded people who have pride, empathy and passion. In other words, they enjoy making you damn tasty brews.

We collaborate with talented roasters who work with farmers and small co-operatives who are committed to not only improving the quality of specialty coffee but also improving the standards of living conditions for these famers and their families.

Great coffee experiences aren’t just about what’s in our cups, they begin at the very beginning of the chain with hard working humans just like us.

Q. What’s a single origin?

A. A bag of beans which are all from the same plot of land. This gives us an opportunity to celebrate the wonderful characteristics of that geographical region and the growers unique farming processes.

Q. What styles of coffee do you serve?

A. Espresso, of course. That includes all your lattes, caps, long blacks, and macchiatos etc.

Filter or batch, which is a gentler way of drinking black coffee. The drip method takes out the harsh acidity found in espresso.

Also, one of our faves Cold Brew is such an amazing and simple brewing style that really offers a delicious and refreshing cup of coffee.

Q. What’s a good coffee joke?

A. Why did the coffee file a police report?

Because it was mugged.

Q. What’s a fun coffee fact?

A. The most expensive coffee is made by cat poop.  It comes from Indonesia and is made from beans digested from the Asian Palm Civet. It sells for $600 per kilo.

Q. What’s the difference between a flat white and a latte?

A. There’s bloody no difference—well sort of. If you want to get picky, the milk texture varies slightly (lattes have more foam) and let's not forget the milk to coffee ratios too.

Q. What milk do you use in your store?

A. Full cream / Light / Milk Lab - Almond / Macadamia / Coconut / Lactose free / Bonsoy / Oatley Barista.

I hear you go through over 120kg of coffee per week. That’s a crap-tonne.

q. How do you make so many?

A. With some good old fashioned ‘Hard Fucking Work’.
